বেগম রউফ (তয়মুন নেছা খানম) বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে নিহত শহীদ আলহাজ্ব মোহাম্মদ আব্দুর রউফ চৌধুরীর স্ত্রী। তিনি আরাম আয়েশে বেড়ে উঠা স্বামীর অকাল মৃত্যুতে বিচলিত না হয়েও শক্ত হাতে পরিবার পরিজন, পাড়া পড়শী সবাইকে নিয়ে চলার পথের চড়াই উতরাই পেরিয়ে মহিয়ষী নারীর আসনে নিজেকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন। পরোপকারী বেগম রউফ এই জীবন সংগ্রামে ‍যুদ্ধ করতে করতে নিজে একদিন না ফেরার দেশে চলে গেছেন, রেখে গেছেন সাধারণ মানুষের ভালবাসার ভান্ডার। তিনি মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় এবং পরবর্তী সময়ে সাহসিকতা ও দৃঢ় মানসিকতার পরিচয় দেন। তাঁর স্বামী আব্দুর রউফ দেশের স্বাধীনতার জন্য নিজের জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছিলেন। স্বামীর এই আত্মত্যাগের পর বেগম রউফ স্বামীর পথ অনুসরণ করে নিজেকে দেশের সেবায় উৎসর্গ করেন। স্বামীর স্মৃতিকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখতে এবং মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনা ধরে রাখতে বেগম রউফ বিভিন্ন সামাজিক এবং ধর্মীয় কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি মুক্তিযুদ্ধের আদর্শ ও ইতিহাস নবীন প্রজন্মের মাঝে ছড়িয়ে দিতে চেষ্টা করেন। তাঁর জীবন কাহিনী এবং ত্যাগ দেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের ইতিহাসে একটি গর্বিত অধ্যায় হিসেবে বিবেচিত হয়। বেগম রউফের ত্যাগ ও সাহসিকতা আমাদের সবাইকে অনুপ্রেরণা যোগায় এবং মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনা ধারণ করে বৈষম্যহীন সমাজ বিনির্মাণের অনুপ্রেরণা শিক্ষা দেয়।

Begum Rauf (Taymun Nescha Khanam) is the wife of Shaheed Alhaj Mohammad Abdur Rauf Chowdhury. She was killed in the war of independence of Bangladesh. Despite of being grew up in comfort, the untimely death of her husband could not disturb her. Rather she hold her family members, neighbors and all the people in the neighborhood with a firm hand and established herself in the seat of a noble woman. fighting in the path of helping the poor and needy, she was gone to a never returning land. But she lefting behind for these people so much love and respect. She showed courage and determination during and after the liberation war. Her husband Abdur Rab sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country. After her husband's sacrifice, Begum Rauf devoted herself to the service of the country. To keep the memory of her husband alive and to keep the spirit of the liberation war alive, Begum Rauf participated in various social and cultural activities. She tried to spread the ideals and history of the liberation war among the younger generation. Her life story and sacrifice is considered a proud chapter in the history of freedom struggle of the country. Begum Rauf's sacrifice and bravery inspires us all and teaches us to keep alive the spirit of the liberation war.
